10 Long Lasting Foods to Help You Survive the Zombie Apocalypse

So you’ve managed to outrun the infected? Congratulations. I must presume that by this point you have found yourself a decent (ish) shelter for the night, and perhaps the adrenaline is starting to wear off, and you’re beginning to feel somewhat peckish?

Wouldn’t it be nice if you had some of these foods to look forward to?

1. Peanut Butter

I regularly sit at home in front of the TV with a jar of Skippy and a spoon. High in protein, peanut butter just what your body needs, especially when you find yourself doing a lot of cardio on a near daily basis.

2. Canned Meats

The contents may resemble that of a dogs dinner, but trust me they taste a lot better than they look. Besides one cannot afford to be too picky in the event of a Zombie Apocalypse.

3. Rice

A little cooking is required but as long as you have a fire going, or a portable stove you should be fine. Rice can be a little basic on it’s own however it is very filling.

4. Canned Soups

With plenty of variety out there, why not shake things up a bit. Pull off all the labels and mix up the cans. After all “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.”

5. Granola Bars

A great pick me up on the go and extremely portable.

6. Pasta
Again, some cookery required, however dried pasta can be part of a staple diet.

7. Canned Beans

Beans come in all shapes and sizes, pork and beans being one of my personal survival favourites.

8. Honey

Honey can add a sweeter flavour to the more basic of foods. Honey is a great source of sugar for a quick energy boost.

9. Dehydrated Foods

Dehydrated foods such as beef jerky have an incredibly long shelf life and are another high source of protein.

10. Instant Oatmeal/Porridge

Not only is porridge the a part of the Great British diet, but it is high in in fibre but the fibre it contains (beta-glucan) acts like a sponge in the intestines and absorbs and eliminates cholesterol-rich bile acids.

So there you have it, the top Zombie Apocalypse survival foods. If you want to keep up to date with the latest survival tips and other E-Virus related news, simply follow my blog via email. You can also find me on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
